Cassall
PF's Very Nice dam sire, Cassall, is one of the best sires in jumping sport horse history, the great Casall. "Casall has been the Holsteiner studbook's poster boy for over a decade. Only very few stallions have had such an impact on the sport and on the breeding scene while still alive. There is no jumping horse studbook in the world that has not been influenced by Casall."
PF’s Very Nice (Varsha), a 2023 chestnut Holsteiner filly, exhibits and showcases great talents, balance, jumping scope, and style. She is a very elegant and refined type, with classic looks, and correctness. PF’s Very Nice possesses a very important member of the sport horse breeding world in her lineage, her dam's sire Casall, the king and pinnacle of the show jumping world's sport horse breeding. PF’s Very Nice made a memorable impression the first moment we laid eyes on her during the prestigious Holsteiner Verband spring foal auction in Germany. It was very clear how incredibly special and talented this young foal was, as the top bid was ours. PF’s Very Nice was purchased and imported by Ryan Pedigo Sport Horses in California, USA.
PF’s Very Nice will have two very important roles here at Ryan Pedigo Sport Horses. She will serve as a producing broodmare via embryo transfer and will have a sport horse performance career throughout the country’s AA-Show Circuit, when her maturity allows for her to begin her dual roles.
PF’s Very Nice’s exceptional talents can be attributed to her world-class lineage. She is sired by the esteemed European stallion Vigado, with her dam's lineage tracing back to the renowned European sires Casall and Corrado I. Vigado, the "Champion Stallion of the 2020 stallion grading, boasts excellent sport horse qualities." As a young sire, Vigado exhibited a comprehensive list of attributes, with remarkable willingness to perform, cleverness, and impressive rideability. Vigado's lineage reflects his exceptional qualities, with sire Vigo d'Arsouilles tracing back to the renowned sire Nabab de Reve, Quidam de Revel, and Jalisco B. Vigo d'Arsouilles achieved victory at the 2010 World Jumping Championship in Lexington (USA) under rider Philippe Lejeune. Notable international show jumping offspring by Vigo d'Arsouilles include Fair Light van't Heike, Vagabond de la Pomme, Irenice Horta, and Ego van Orti. Vigado's dam, Goya, the first foal out of Quo Vados daughter Goya, secured the title of champion stallion in 2020. The second dam, Tora II, by Cash and Carry, produced two successful sport horses, Querry and Quno, achieving results up to 1.45 meters and 1.50 meters, respectively. The third dam, Nancy (by Concerto II), produced two 1.60-meter jumpers, Cash and Go, and Cash up, along with Vigado's second dam, Tora II, both by Cash and Carry. The fourth dam, Fanny, by Capitol I, also produced the 1.60-meter jumper Cardea II by Caretino.
PF's Very Nice's dam line continues with some of the finest jumping sport horse breeding linage. Her Dam, Esprie H, was sired by the great world renowned stallion Casall. Nubia's dams line highlights one of the best sires in jumping sport horse history, the great Casall. "Casall has been the Holsteiner studbook's poster boy for over a decade. Only very few stallions have had such an impact on the sport and on the breeding scene while still alive. There is no jumping horse studbook in the world that has not been influenced by Casall." Under top rider Rolf-Goran Bengtsson, Casall was on of the highest achieving horses on the international show jumping circuit, successfully reaching the top 25 at all major championships, in the last decade, including the 2012 London Olympics, the 2012 Herning Europeans, and the 2014 Caen World Equestrian Games. Casall's sire Caretino ranks among the Holsteiner studbook's top sires. Through connection Caletto II yet another exceptional breeding stallion whose sire line is directly connected to the world renown stallion Cor de la Bryere. Casall's second dam Maltia by Raimond, who has the producer of Taura (by Lord). Taura went onto produce the licensed stallions Ringo Starr and Cesano I and II, the successful international sport horses Crocodile Dandy and Conally.
Further highlighting PF's Very Nice's dam line is the great sire, Corrado I. "Corrado 1 was the Holsteiner studbook's flagship as a breeding and sport stallion." His accolades include winning the Aachen NRW prize and the Dortmund World Cup qualifier under rider Franke Sloothaak. His most recognized progeny include: Corradina, Clinton, licensed stallions Corofino, Crawford and Coriano. Corrado I combines the blood of the two great C's "Cor de la Bryere and Capitol" along with Thoroughbred bloodlines on the dam side through Maestose xx and Frivol xx. Corrado I is a descendent of the bloodline 6879, making the connections to Baden, who competed at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki under rider Hermann Evers, Baden-Baden under rider Rheder Thormählen and Original Holsatia, who was a star under rider Fritz Thiedemann, prior to being sold to Mexico, all direct descends from this line. Much more recently this line has produced Campus (Carthago / Lord), Chellano Z (Contender / Cor de la Bryère), Corrado II (Cor de la Bryère / Capitol I), Landlord IV (who earned a third at Spruce Meadows) and Lausbub (the Hamburg Derby winner) both sired by Landgraf.
Corrado I was ridden by the Holsteiner Verband riders, Thiess Luther and Bo Kristoffersen on the young horse circuit, capturing the title of finalist of the six-year-olds at the Bundeschampionate in 1991. The following season he began his international jumping career under an agreement between the Verband and Franke Sloothaak’s sponsors, San Patrignano, so he was still campaigned by Franke. The pair went onto win the Grand Prix of Leeuwarden in 1993 and were second at the Nations Cup in La Baule. In 1994, Corrado I won the World Cup Qualifier at Dortmund, then to finish third at the Nations Cup in Aachen. Then he also won the German Championship during this season. During 1996, he won the Danish World Cup Qualifier in Aarhus, and the Grand Prix of Neumünster and Kiel. In 1997, Franke and Corrado earned a third in the Hamburg Grand Prix and a fourth place in the Grand Prix of Göteborg.
As a sire, Corrado I was an instant success. His international jumper progeny include: Classic H under rider Helena Persson, Cher under rider Piet Raymakers, Corrada under rider Peter Charles, Cosmina under rider Markus Fuchs, Cosmos Star under rider Evelyne Blaton, Caramia under rider Espen Johannsen, Canyon under rider Tim Grubb, Think Twice under rider Leopold van Asten, and Cabrio under rider Felix and Toni Hassman. Additionally, Cattani competed at the 2005 European Championships under rider Spain’s Manuel Saro Fernandez, then rider Geir Gulliksen took the reins this pair were members of the Norwegian team at the 2008 Olympic Games. Carsten Otto-Nagel won the Riders Tour in 2008 with mare Corradina, following the next year, the pair earned a second at the European Championships at Windsor as members of the bronze medal winning German team.
But perhaps his most spectacular son is the grey stallion, Clinton, who individually captured a 4th placing at the Olympic Games in Athens, and a second placing behind Shutterfly in Aachen in 2005. Impressively fifteen of Corrado I sons have been approved for breeding in Holstein Corofino I, Coriano, Coronado and Clinton. And they themselves have already produced licensed sons. By the end of 2006, Corrado I recorded an impressive 95 progeny, all who have jumped at an international level.
